'The Rum Diary' Would be a Huge Flop for The Actor-brad Pitt

'Pirates from the Caribbean' it was not. Over the past weekend, 'The Rum Diary,' starring The Actor-brad Pitt, opened up countrywide. Regrettably, nobody first viewed it, rather choosing for speaking felines or films made from home movie footage. Depp is not accustomed to the term "flop" -- a minimum of not lately, with the 'Pirates' franchise consuming a combined $3.7 billion worldwide. However, using its $45 million budget and $5 million in box office receipts, 'The Rum Diary' may finish up being the greatest bust from the actor's career. While you will find a number of Depp projects that may be considered "flops" -- 'The Libertine' from 2004 made only $ten million on the $20 million budget -- nothing may touch 'The Rum Diary.' It is a little sad, thinking about all of the actor experienced to really obtain the film made -- company, we all do understand it was just opening weekend and also the movie continues to have an opportunity of increasing in popularity. However the forecast doesn't look great, particularly with blockbusters like 'Tower Heist' and 'The Muppets' being launched within the coming days. Shareholders back current News Corp. regime

MurdochIn a show of support for the current governance of News Corp., the company's shareholders voted Friday to elect all existing directors and rejected a proposal for an independent chair of the board. Vote, held during the company's annual stockholders meeting, also endorsed executive compensation levels and other management proposals -- despite sometimes-hostile investor criticism of News Corp.'s leadership in the wake of a massive phone-hacking scandal. Wavering between penitence and irritation, News Corp. chairman-CEO Rupert Murdoch tried to strike a balance as shareholders grilled him on corporate governance and urged for changes.Christian Brothers Investment Services brought the resolution over new leadership to the floor, a proposal that would have ultimately replaced Murdoch as chairman with an independent director.Murdoch emphasized in his statements that the conglom was doing well and poised for continued success in the future. Not all shareholders agreed and many expressed their frustration at the company's management and its returns."You've been treating us like mushrooms for a long time,'' said Stephen Mayne, director of the Australian Shareholders Assn. during sometimes amused, sometimes heated exchanges with Murdoch in the half-dozen times he approached the microphone.Shareholders have criticized the company's corporate governance, saying lax oversight by a board with too many ties to the Murdoch family may have contributed to the hacking scandal."I promise you we will stop at nothing to get to the bottom of this and put it right,'' Murdoch said.Murdoch offered blanket reassurances of the company's profitability and stressed that the corporation's media properties remained strong."In the era of expanding digital consumption, our content libraries are fast becoming treasure troves,'' he said. The Zanuck Theater on the Fox lot was full and the mood was tense.British MP Tom Watson brought up potential new allegations of computer hacking but Murdoch said he was unaware of them."I find it inconceivable that a company of this size does not know things that I know,'' Watson responded. 'The Secret Circle' Co-Star Previews 'Tenuous' Family Associations, Flashbacks and Drunken Confessions (Q&A)

The CW"The Important Thing Circle" The Important Thing Circle started a completely new chapter the other day, but things aren't coming back to normalcy (whatever "normal" is) soon.our editor recommends'The Secret Circle' Boss Confesses Dying Was Created to occur Earlier inside the Season (Q&A)'Secret Circle,' 'Hart of Dixie' Acquired for Full Seasons round the CW'The Secret Circle' Co-Stars Tease Bad Influences together with a 'Heartbreaking' Episode (Videos)'The Secret Circle': Thomas Dekker Shows Complicated Romances, Unknown Secrets together with a far more dark Tone (Video)'The Secret Circle' Air Kevin Williamson States L.J. Smith's Writing 'Taps Into My Happy Place' PHOTOS: The CW Fall Premiere Party Adam Harrington, who plays Adam's (Thomas Dekker) drunk father Ethan, recognized he didn't start to see the dying coming. "Nick's dying will be a large shock," Harrington recognized inside an interview while using Hollywood Reporter. "There's an ominous cloud that something tragic happens, however was shocked at the actual way it happened and who managed to get happen.Inch (Executive producer Andrew Burns told THR the dying was made to happen earlier inside the series.) PHOTOS: The Important Thing Circle: Consider First the CW's Witchy New Series When Secret Circle returns on Thursday evening, everyone mourns diversely to ensure that as Harrington put it, Ethan does a thing that could customize the lives of his boy and also the girlfriend Diana (Shelley Hennig). But as Harrington notifies it, there's grounds to Ethan's madness even though his forces haven't yet been fully recognized, he boosts this: "A sum really happen if Ethan decides to sober up? What energy does Ethan have?" PHOTOS: CW's Year Tv Shows: 'Hart of Dixie,' 'Ringer' plus much more Harrington spoke to THR in regards to the strained relationship between Ethan and Adam, playing employment in Adam's relationship with Diana and why his character chooses striking the bottle hard. The Hollywood Reporter: Ethan remains missing to use it, it seems. Could he go back to resulting in more trouble? Adam Harrington: I'm apt to be resulting in some trouble. This next episode has turned into a one while using tragic dying and/or murder of Nick (Louis Hunter), and everybody has written Ethan off as a bit of the city drunk. We forget that Ethan was there 16 in the past and knows just what happened. Most of the consuming is him trying to forget this ever happened. Nick's dying, this can be a real trigger for him as they can't escape it any more. Sadly, it will make him hit the bottle hard. He eventually eventually ends up telling something to Diana he shouldn't have with a serious effect on her relationship with Adam. THR: How pivotal is secret? Harrington: A completely new character [Mike, guest star Chris Zylka] appears that creates an authentic change inside the dynamic in the group, particularly with Cassie (Britt Robertson). Ethan's large motto of "don't wreak havoc on fate, bad unpredicted unexpected things happen if you wreak havoc on fate," he really feels as if he was fated to obtain together with Amelia. Because that didn't happen, in some manner what went lower 16 in the past was connected with this, he's afraid Adam may wreak havoc on fate. THR: You think your character will sober up soon? Is he going to begin to develop? Harrington: There's a side of Ethan which will rather he didn't have to sober up, however think what's really exciting might be the following episode. Somebody returns form Ethan's past threatening to supply strategies for Cassie, threatening to help remind her what's happening. We view that within the finish of 107, Ethan comprises an option whether he'll continue not involved or perhaps the decision he makes about being involved, and what that actually is. THR: Will people in Chance Harbor eventually uncover what went lower to Nick, that Charles (Gale Harold) and Beginning (Natasha Henstridge) carried out employment? Harrington: That scene is rather difficult to watch. Secrets in this town eventually emerge, it's who finds out and who not. THR: You'll be able to scene approaching that audiences should consider? Harrington: The scene with Ethan and Diane now's fairly intense, particularly on her. Then in 107, I used to be really excited to find out Adam facing his father. You'll be able to only go this type of very long time with obtaining a drunk father who's not always responsible, provided inside the back and almost died [per week ago's episode] when Nick would burn lower the boathouse. Ethan and Adam's relationship was already tenuous, it is not the best father-boy dynamic which we percieve it possess a serious turn. THR: Is there a problem to find out happen future episodes? Whomever else been waiting to accomplish? Harrington: People happen to be speaking in what flashbacks would that they like, visiting a couple of from the products that occurs. Another things that's exciting might be the question everybody has regarding Ethan: A sum really happen if Ethan decides to sober up, what energy does Ethan have? THR: Because we've only seen one for yellows up to now ... Harrington: We haven't seen lack of. Or that Ethan does know precisely what went down, and the way much Ethan's behavior, though sad, is actually a choice. THR: Have you thought about where your character in advance that will help you produce the arc if needed? Harrington: The authors provided good info what went lower everything way back when, just for myself, to know where he's been coming initially from from and why he's acting the means by which he's. Ethan does know very well what happened. And several stuff I didn't have to know as it is great to own that unfold since the layers get peeled back as Ethan starts to produce options in what he is going to do. THR: Do you know the supernatural animals that are much more frightening than remains proven up to now? Harrington: Everyone knows it's Chance Harbor. Everyone knows it is not a cheerful world. A variety of it I realize about, I am unable to discuss, but it's just fantastic, however that we believe certainly that you've a back nine, it offers the authors room to develop these tales and discover what's possible. Exceptional line within the Matrix? "We're really prone to uncover how deep the rabbit hole goes." THR: Any surprises up to now this season that you just didn't see coming? Harrington: Nick's dying will be a large shock. There's an ominous cloud that something tragic happens, however was shocked at the actual way it happened and who managed to get happen. Ethan features a line in episode six, "Wake": "Youthful people can't stop dying in this town." I am unsure that Ethan always thinks the story in regards to the dying. Kevin Smith Visits Occupy Wall Street To 'Talk To Some Cats'

Kevin Smith has never been one to hide his views and opinions, especially on hot-button topics, so it couldn't come as a surprise that after the "Red State" director stopped by MTV News, he planned to head downtown to check out the Occupy Wall Street protests and perhaps finally get a straight answer about what the demonstrations were all about. "You hear people online go, 'It's this. It's that.' You never know unless you go down there," Smith told MTV News' Josh Horowitz. "So I'm going to go down there and talk to some cats." The movement intrigued Smith for both it's uniqueness and the way it seemingly hearkens back to some of the civil unrest of previous decades. "There's no Hyrda head, so you want to talk to a bunch of people to find out what is this," Smith said. "It sounds kind of cool. You haven't seen any sort of spontaneous civil disobedience like this in a long f---ing time." Smith encouraged everyone to go visit the protests just to be a part of history and to find out what it was all about for themselves. "Something like that bears looking at. We live in history every day of our lives," Smith said. "Jump in and touch it. Don't just read about it online."

There's no comment within the Biennale on Monday. Baratta and Mueller's mandates both expire this year. Mueller remains Lido Master for eight years. Malgara's appointment must still apparent paperwork inside the Italian Senate and might be voided once the government falls, which is not impossible given Italy's presently volatile political climate. Galan's choice of Biennale topper originates under fire from Venice mayor Giorgio Orsoni, who referred to as him "inadequate" for your publish and mentioned he preferred Baratta to stay on. Italy's 100 Autori association of auteurs also provide lamented a choice of Malgara stating supposed inadequate competence and pointing to cronyism, given his close rapport with premier and TV mogul Silvio Berlusconi. However, given Malgara's marketing background it seems probable he could lure more Biennale corporate sponsors which, given Italy's current economic predicament, might be a plus.
